International Pool Spa & Patio Expo

For the past several years, the Master Pools Guild has hosted a reception for members on the first afternoon of the annual International Pool Spa Patio Expo – a convention that normally draws attendance of approximately 10,000 each November. Plans were underway for the 2020 reception when organizers of the Expo announced the shift to a virtual format. Planners at the GUILD decided to dip their toe into hosting a virtual reception and the idea for the GUILD’s Make a SPLASH reception began to take shape.

“At first, I wasn’t sure how we were going to fill sixty minutes”

shared current GUILD Chairman of the Board, Scott Lineker, “But, the GUILD staff had a plan that included trivia games, music and even a cocktail making lesson from one of our members. We shared what the GUILD is all about, including videos from previous meetings, and there was no time that wasn’t filled with engaging content or activity.”

Dick Covert, Executive Director of the Master Pools GUILD added, “We learn a great deal every time we try something new in the virtual space. Our preference is, and always will be, getting together in person, but, we keep trying new methods to engage current & potential members and this was a fun experiment. The Master Pools GUILD’s 100 + member companies look forward to attending the annual VIP reception held for them at the International Pool Spa Patio Expo and we hope to be back next year, in person.”
